First, it’s important to understand that the SAT is scored on a 1600-point scale, with 800 points possible for each of the two sections (Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing). The average SAT score is about 1050, but what is considered a good score depends on several factors, including the college you are applying to and the competitiveness of the applicant pool.
